What MAT is not...
M.A.T. is not Massage Therapy - Massage therapy helps to improve the circulation of blood through the body and to speed the removal of metabolic waste products from the muscle. M.A.T. does more as it also helps relieve mental stress and improve concentration as well as promote restful sleep.

M.A.T. is not Physical Therapy - Physical therapy includes procedure such as theraputic excerecises and the application of electro-physical modalities and although they are valuable procedures, they do not address or RESOLVE the underlying problems caused by muscular imbalances.

M.A.T. is not Chiropractic Care - Traditional chiropractic care focuses on the relationship between the spinal skeletal system and the nervous system but it does not focus on the muscular system and the correction of muscular imbalances. M.A.T. and chiropractic care work well together, but without M.A.T., the results of chiropractic care are limited in their ability to provide complete resolution. Many times in chiropractic care, a client will have to go back many times for the same procedure (i.e. spinal adjustments), and this is because the muscles have failed to hold the spine in its proper alignment. M.A.T.'s job is to re-activate inhibited muscles and to make sure all muscles are functioning properly to hold chiropractic adjustments.

M.A.T. is not Active Release Techniques either.

What M.A.T. is...
M.A.T. is a biomechanically based system that identifies and corrects neuromuscular imbalances that cause muscle pain or joint pain. It looks at the body's mechanics to make sure all muscles are functioning properly and that there are no weak links in the muscular system that will cause the body to compensate.

M.A.T. is a safe, powerful tool that can be used as an adjunct to many other modalities... including chiropractic, physical therapy, athletic trainers and personal trainers.

One of the keys to M.A.T. is that is prepares your body regardless of the physical activity (golf, tennis, weight training, or simply walking up the stairs). The M.A.T. procedure addresses the weak links, therby allowing the body to function most efficiently while minimizing pain.

Whether you are an athlete, youth playing sports, baby boomer or senior, M.A.T. will dramatically reduce muscle/joint pain and will also increase range of motion, stability, strength and flexibility. M.A.T. gets to the root of the pain or injury which helps to restore normal body alignment, thereby, decreasing pain and reducing risk of injury. Elite athletes from the Utah Jazz's legendary point guard, John Stockton, to many other professional athletes have utilized M.A.T. as a core part of the regiment on and off the field. Pro teams are even hiring M.A.T. therapists as a key component for their atheltes which was proven during the 2 Super Bowl Championships the Denver Broncos won.
